Today we’ve asked;

Who is the Welsh ‘God of the Sea’? a. Don b. Dylan c. Govannon

Now, while you may already know that the answer is (shhh, don’t tell anyone) ‘Dylan’, what do you actually know about this mythical welsh god?

If you were asked this question while playing Welsh Quest, you’d notice a black dot next to the question. This indicates that there’s more information about the answer in the Welsh Quest Quiz book.

Simply locate the question in the book and here’s what you’ll learn about Dylan:

In Welsh mythology Dylan was the God of the Sea and along with his brother Lleu was the son of the virgin goddess Aranrhod. He left for the sea just after he was baptised and legend says that a wave never broke beneath him. Dylan’s symbol is a silver fish.

Of course, back in “those day”, these legends were passed down traditionally mouth-to-mouth, so to speak. But these days we can share our knowledge via Twitter, Facebook and board games!
